The Pakistan Gems and Jewellery Develop-ment Company (PGJDC) organised Islamabad's first-ever 'Gem Bazaar Islamabad' (Pakistani Gems, Jewellery and Mineral Exhibition) to showcase high quality gemstone, studded jewellery and mineral specimen.
The 'Gem Bazaar' is the 19th event - very first in Islamabad - and is exclusively focused on gem stone industry. Around 125 exhibitors from across Pakistan that include dealers, distributors, exporters and retailers are participating in this event with the aim of promoting Pakistani gems.
Minister for Industries and Production, Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani inaugurated the exhibition. The inauguration ceremony was attended by a large number of diplomats, traders, industrialists and government functionaries. Speaking on the occasion, Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani said, "Pakistan, is blessed with immense resources especially minerals and precious stones. It is up to us to put in our best efforts to convert that potential into tangible gains to benefit the country and the economy. Pakistan's gems and jewellery sector has huge potential and the country can become regional leader by adopting modern techniques and methodologies."
The exhibition has helped create awareness about the importance of gems and jewellery to support the economy among the gem merchants besides highlighting the importance of holding such exhibitions for the benefit of the gems and jewellery industry.-PR
