The Nowshera police on Sunday seized huge quantity of opium during successful raid from a car near Akora Khattak and arrested two smugglers. According to police, on a tip-off that a huge quantity of opium would be smuggled from tribal areas to Punjab, Akora Khattak police was put on alert. The police at a blockade near Akora Khattak on G.T.Road, signalled the car No 9605 to stop.
However, its driver accelerated the speed to flee, but the police a little chase, succeeded to apprehend its two inmates, Raees Khan and Khan Afsar, with 50 kilogram opium. The price of the narcotics was stated to be of million of rupees in the international market.
