Parliamentary Kashmir Committee on Wednesday urged that the forthcoming Solidarity Day (February 5) should be observed with fervour and enthusiasm. Maulana Fazlur Rahman, Chairman Parliamentary Kashmir Committee who chaired the meeting called upon all the political parties, provincial governments, social, religious and youth organisations, civil society and media to line-up various programmes for the Solidarity Day.
He said, the whole nation from Khyber to Karachi should be active on the day, so that a strong message of support from the whole Pakistan should go to our Kashmiri brethren, struggling for their right to self-determination. The Kashmir Committee reiterated full support for the people of the occupied Kashmir in their struggle for freedom from India. The committee expressed dissatisfaction with the work of the various government organisations engaged with the Kashmir issue, calling upon them to work more devotedly. It also called upon the government to accord top priority to the Kashmir issue and focus its energies to resolve it as early as possible. Delay in this regard is harmful, it observed.
