Punjab Assembly in its session here on Wednesday passed 'The Provincial Motor Vehicles (Amendment )Bill 2010'; 'The Global Institute Bill 2010'; and 'The Lahore Leads University Bill 2010'.
Six bills: The Trust (Amendment) Bill 2011; The Transfer of Property (Amendment Bil) 2011; The Partition(Amendment)Bill 2011;The Employment of Children (Amendment) Bill 2011;The Employment (Record of Services ) (Amendment) Bill2011; The Punjab Holy Quran (Printing and Recording) Bill 2011 were forwarded to the standing committees.
Punjab Law Minister Sanaullah, on the sad incident of murder of parents of Judge of Supreme Court Justice Javaid Iqbal, said that an inquiry looking at various aspects of the incident had been initiated. He also showed sorrow over the murderous attack on MPA Javed Bhatti. In this attack, two-bodyguards of the legislator were killed.
The Minister also formed a committee to look into the matter of attendance of legislators as it was reported that though some members were not coming into the house, their attendance was still being signed. Parliamentary Secretary Abdul Razzak Dhillon answering queries in Local Government stated that after devolution status tehsil Lahore has elapsed and instead now Lahore has been divided into nine towns.
He answering a query which said that presently Fire Services Department Faisalabad possessed 19 fire vehicles. He said 12 of these vehicles were in running condition. To a query Parliamentary Secretary stated that presently there were 150 union councils in district Lahore.
Parliamentary Secretary to another question replied that to register new residential colony under Punjab laws it was mandatory that the colony should have at least 160 kanal land under its title. The Minister said it was also necessary to keep area for graveyard, playground, park in the colony under registration. The House was later adjourned.
