Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers and Exporters Association (North Zone), Sialkot in co-operation with SMEDA organised a training workshop on "Productivity Improvement Through Lean Manufacturing" Thursday at PHMA, Sialkot. Speaking on the occasion the Chairman PHMA, Sialkot Faisal Mahboob said that the Sialkot is the industrial hub of Pakistan and globally its unique export culture and producing quality products.
He stressed upon the members of the business community that they should attend workshops and trainings were vital for capacity building. The training workshops and seminars should be made a permanent feature in this export city for enhancing the capabilities of the workers involved in the production of quality hosiery and knitwear industry, he said.
He said that the improvement in production could only be achieved through improvement the efficiency, reduction of defect rate, material handling through time and cost. Haider Sagheer, the instructor, highlighted the potential of improvements in the existing production and quality system of garment factories in Sialkot. A number of the participants form the production departments of Sialkot garment industry attend the workshop. Later, Faisal Mahboob, Chairman PHMA (NZ), Sialkot awarded the certificates to the participants.
