Under CM's Hepatitis Control Programme, as many as 607 deserving patients have been provided injections free of cost for the course of treatment of the hepatitis disease during the year 2010 and after the completion of medical treatment course 521 patients have been healed.
This was informed during a function held here at DHQ Hospital for the distribution of treatment injections course among the newly registered 86 patients. District Co-ordination for Health/Ex MPA Sh Ijaz Ahmad was the chief guest in this function. Medical Superintendent Dr Hafiz Mukhtar Randawa, Addl MS Dr Habib Buttar, focal person for clinical management Professor Dr Mirza Akmal Sharif, Pathologist Dr Muhammad Jamil, Medical Social Welfare Officer Samina Qadri and other members of District Hepatitis Viral Control Committee were also present on the occasion.
Speaking to the participants, District Co-ordination for Health Sh Ijaz Ahmad said that CM Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif was striving to provide the health facilities to the common people at their door steps and well equipped medical facilities, mobile health units were also being provided at the far flung areas of the province for this purpose.
He said that working of the government hospitals and dispensaries were being improved by providing the latest medical facilities in these health institutions. He appreciated the efforts of hospitals for successful implementation on the hepatitis control programme and pray for the early recovery of the beneficiaries.
MS informed that the hepatitis control programme was continuing without any interruption and the deserving patients were being provided all out facilities for the treatment of hepatitis C. He thanked the CM for providing every possible resources to boost up the hospitals.
He also lauded the efforts of District Co-ordination Health for extending co-operation for the development and welfare of the hospitals. Professor Dr Akmal Sharif apprised the beneficiaries of the reactionary and preventive measures regarding the hepatitis disease and informed that complete monitoring was being carried out of the under treatment hepatitis patients to avoid any complication.
