Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has revolutionised the concept of school education by introducing various innovative concepts through public private partnership and as a result of dedicated efforts a large number of deserving students are getting quality education through a coherent network of 2445 partner schools in 29 districts.
This was stated by Managing Director Punjab Education Foundation, Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani while briefing the six-member 'Pakistan Caucus' students' delegation of Harvard Kennedy School, Harvard University, United States of America at PEF Boardroom.
He maintained that education is a strong mechanism that could be used to develop human resources of the less-privileged in urban and rural slums. "Education is more than an economic investment, it is an essential input upon which development and the survival of whole society depends.
PEF has developed many useful initiatives to promote affordable quality education for the less privileged and disenfranchised sections of society and has introduced new economical models in public private partnership. The initiatives have been widely appreciated and recognised both at national and international levels. "They are enabling the least advantaged sections of society by providing wider quality educational opportunities at affordable cost."
Wani further said that PEF is earnestly working to promote quality education at the grassroots so that the children with socio-economic deprivations could have access to education - the most important fundamental right of the children. At PEF, the quality of education is especially ensured so that students could get best of the best education in their schools.
While explaining the various steps taken for bringing qualitative improvement in the educational standards, he said that the teachers of the low-cost private education institutions have been provided opportunities for their continuous professional development through cluster based training aimed at improving the pedagogical skills and secure understanding of the subject matter.
