Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM) was neither being privatised and nor any scheme of golden handshake was under consideration, said Imtaiz Ahmed Khan Lohdi, Acting Managing Director PSM. He was addressing Pakistan Steel employees at Technical Library here on Thursday. Lohdi said that PSM was a national asset and government knew its importance, therefore the government was planning to expand it.
He said that PSM was working under the ministry of Industries and management was bound to follow the decisions of the ministry. However, he said, presently there is plan to sack employees or privatize the mills. Acting MD said that during the last month PSM sales were Rs 3 billion, which was a major achievement and its was expected that sale would further increase in the future.
