Executive District Officer, Zafar-ul-Islam on Sunday said about 643,000 children under six years of age would be given anti-measles vaccine during a five-day national immunisation campaign in the district.
"Social mobilising teams will also visit door to door to bring children at health centres set up at UC level", he told APP here. He added a doctor would also be deputed at respective health centres to supervise the campaign.
The EDO said that vaccine, vitamin A and tablets would be given to every children during the immunisation drive. "We will also visit schools and selected centres to vaccinate children", he added.
He said 268 teams had been constituted for the task and added that after successful completion of the first phase, they would start the second phase to eliminate the disease.
