Treatment, prevalence of HIV in Pakistan: PML-Q to submit adjournment motion in National Assembly
Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) will submit an adjournment motion to National Assembly to discuss prevalence and treatment of HIV in Pakistan. The adjournment motion has been prepared by MNA Marvi Memon after visiting Jogipur, Jalalpurjathan, Gurjrat neighbourhood in connection with HIV/AIDS.
The motion states," "We submit that the business of the house be adjourned to discuss a matter of urgent public importance namely: the prevalence of HIV in Pakistan and lack of effective strategy to deal with it countrywide." In a statement, Marvi said that as a result of her visit to the neighbourhood and the hospital briefing on Sunday, she would be submitting the adjournment motion to National Assembly Secretariat on behalf of her party: She raised certain concerns related to HIV issues in Pakistan.
She said that prevalence of HIV in each district needs to be disclosed to National Assembly secretariat including strategies and budgets for it.
