Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) on Tuesday decided to utilise diplomatic and political channels to protect the country's export interest, which is being impaired after the imposition of additional duty on import of woven fabrics by Turkish government.
In a statement issued by Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) , the Chief Executive Tariq Iqbal Puri called a meeting of all stakeholders of the woven fabric exports to Turkey, to discuss the said issue. The meeting, which was convened at the TDAP office Karachi, was attended by the stakeholders, including Dr Mirza Ikhtiar Baig advisor to PM on Textile, Shahid Soorty, Tariq Rafi, etc.
The participants discussed the possible course of action to protect the country's exports from a heavy imposition of tariff by Turkey, as Pakistan has a significant share of Turkish market particularly, in Denim and Gray Cloth. Therefore, it has been decided to utilise diplomatic and political channels to protect the country's export interest, the Press Release said.-PR
