The Speaker Sindh Assembly, Nisar Ahmed Khuhro and Provincial Minister for Culture Ms Sassui Palijo today jointly inaugurated the 267th Annual Urs Celebrations of Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai (RA) at Bhitshah. The elder son of Sajjada Nashin dargah Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai Syed Waqar Hussain Shah also accompanied the speaker and Provincial Minister during the inaugural ceremony.
Talking to the Journalists at the courtyard of dargah, the Speaker Sindh Assembly Nisar Ahmed Khuhro said that traditionally the annual urs celebrations are started from today on 14th Saffar. He said that traditionally these celebrations begin from the morning of 14th Saffar since many decades and today we continued this tradition. Khuhro further said that Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai (RA) was great saint poet, who had delivered the message of love, affection and brotherhood of human being through his divine poetry. He said that Shah Latif is Sindh and Sindh is with the Shah Latif.
Responding a question about the development at the mazar of Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai (RA), the Speaker Sindh Assembly Nisar Ahmed Khuhro said that since the days of Mukhtarma Benazir Bhutto was in power, many development schemes had been launched at various dargahs to facilitate the devotees. As such same also announced for the dargah of Shah Latif and Bhitshah town as well out of which many were got completed while many other schemes has also been launched by the present PPP government to facilitate the devotees.
To another question about terrorism, Nisar Ahmed Khuhro said that because of our weaknesses, some may be from writers, readers and some may be from other segments of the society. However, he made it clear that this menace can be eliminated with joint efforts both government and society. He said that no religion allows any individual to take life of a living man, even Islam doesn't allow any individual to take his life by suicide.
Responding yet another question about not arrival of Sindh Governor for the inauguration of annual urs celebrations of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai, Mr Nisar Ahmed Khuhro said that he was not aware of the fact that why the Sindh Governor not arrived either by security reasons or some unavoidable engagements.
Later, the Speaker Sindh Assembly Nisar Ahmed Khuhro and Sindh Minister for Culture Ms Sassui Palijo inaugurated a model village organised by Provincial Culture Department to depict the living culture of rural areas. The Speaker Sindh Assembly and Sindh Minister for Culture along with MPA Amir Ali Shah Hashmi, Secretary Culture, Ellmuddin Bullo, DG Culture. Sikandar Panhwar, consultant Shams Jafrani, DCO Matiari Saqib Soomro took round of the village and inspected various stalls of handicrafts. They also took Sindhi traditional food at the hotel in the village.
Talking with Journalists at site of village, the Speaker Sindh Assembly, Nisar Ahmed Khuhro while responding a question about restoration of Commissionrate system, said that this task needs amendment into law and PPP government under its reconciliation policy believes to carry amendment in law with consensus of the coalition partners rather than using its lever of majority. He said that all the flaws in the devolved systems of the government were being examined and identified and discussed with the coalition partners of the government and hopefully the decision in this regard would be taken with consensus.
Responding to another question about allotment of land, Khuhoro said that the allotment made if any would be according to law and made by competent authority and made it clear that question doesn't arise to do it on the recommendation from anyone.
While responding about the retrenchment of contract teachers, he said that contracts are being happened for limited periods and specification which have no legal value after the expiry of its period but he questioned that as to why the achievements of the PP government for restoration of jobs of employees who had been retrenched by previous government is not praised. He said that PPP was the only political party, which always has opened the donors of employment for the poor people.
