A full bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC) here on Wednesday adjourned to January 20 the proceedings in some identical petition challenging dual office of President Asif Ali Zardari when amicus curiae Abid Hasan Manto was still submitting his arguments.
Abid Manto, contended that there is no clause in the constitution of Pakistan, which may bar president of Pakistan from being member of a political party. "However, president being symbol of federation of Pakistan should not let president house be used for political activities of any political party" Manto added. He said president should remain neutral, non-partisan to meet the constitutional requirement and national solidarity. Manto, will continue his arguments on Thursday (today) as well.
