Pakistan Muslim League-Q has strongly condemned the joint brutal action of Gujrat police and the N-League miscreants against a peaceful gathering of the PML Gujrat workers.
The PML-Q senior leader Chaudhry Parvez Elahi said here Thursday that on one hand, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif is obstructing the arrest of fake degree accused MPA Nasir Mehmood in violation of orders of the apex court while on the other hand his elder brother Mian Nawaz Sharif is talking about the supremacy of the judiciary.
Elahi said, "By obeying the Chief Minister and not arresting the fake degree accused MPA Nasir Mehmood the police officials are liable to commit contempt of the Supreme Court's orders which they should avoid at all cost." The PML-Q has alleged that joint violent action was staged in Gujrat to hinder the arrest of a law fugitive. He has asked his party workers to note down names of all those police officials who have victimised PML workers in the province in the last three years.
Chaudhry Parvez Elahi has blamed the "Ad hoc rulers of Punjab" for turning the province into a police state where the ruling party goons have been given a free hand to commit crimes and openly desecrate the law. He also blamed the Punjab police for looking the other way in cases where the N-League was clearly at fault. He said that violence against a peaceful gathering of PML workers in Gujrat demanding the arrest on ex-MPA Nasir Mehmood in a fake degree case was monitored by the police and executed by the N-League goons.
According to him, the injured workers of his party were later picked up from hospitals and thrown into jail. False cases had been registered against the innocent PML Gujrat workers and the police was raiding their homes to harass them and their families.
He said that the crime rate in Punjab had shot up by 63 percent while there was no account of crimes that were not registered by the police.
