London copper prices were steady on Thursday, underpinned by strong Chinese growth data, but inflation in the world's top commodity consumer, and rising stockpiles of copper, weighed on sentiment. Shanghai's benchmark third-month copper futures contract fell 1,290 yuan to 71,610 yuan a tonne. Aluminium fell $10 to $2,427, but prices may rebound to $2,460 per tonne as a strong support is observed at $2,418, Reuters chartist Wang Tao said.
