A four-member delegation from Pakistan will visit Japan to participate in a three-day international fashion fair commencing from January 26, 2011. Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) is organising the visit in collaboration with JETRO and JICA.
While addressing the briefing session of delegates of Lahore from Karachi through video conferencing, Chief Executive TDAP, Tariq Iqbal Puri said that the purpose of the delegation is to study market conditions and trend of market of Japanese textile sector. He said that the delegation will leave for Japan on January 23, 2011.
The visit would be a milestone to enter Japanese market as Japan imports from China are about 85 percent of their textile sector but now they are looking for other markets for the imports. Puri suggested the delegates to study custom duties, prices of textile products in Japan and also conduct comparative study of the competitors of Pakistan in Japanese market.
He further suggested that the delegates should share their learning with other colleagues of the industry after their return from Japan. The session at Lahore office was attended by Director General TDAP Lahore, Muhammad Irfan Tarar, Director TDAP Lahore, Rana Shahad Ahmed. Two delegates from Lahore Mubashir Naseer Buut and Jawad Ahmed Choudhary were also present on the occasion.
