Addressing issues: 'President, Sindh chief minister to hold meeting with HCCI team'
Minister for Women Development Sindh, Mrs. Toqeer Fatima Bhutto held a scheduled meeting at Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (HCCI), here on Monday. Addressing the meeting, she said she is in interaction with Federal Minister, Naveed Qamar and Provincial Minister, Zahid Bhurgari with regard to sorting out problems and bottlenecks being faced by the members of HCCI.
She assured the chamber that she will arrange an appointment of HCCI with president, Asif Ali Zardari and Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah to discuss the prevailing problems of the city, especially industrial estate where industrialists and traders have been encountering various problems for last so many years within the territorial jurisdiction of Site area. The meeting is aimed at resolving problems of industrialists and traders, she added.
She said that government has been taking appropriate measures for the progress of trade and industrial sector. In-fact, due to the natural calamity in the country, burden on government has enhanced regarding rehabilitation and resettlement of flood-affected people.
Ms Toqeer Fatima said that women cottage zone is being constructed in Umer Kot. She informed that a committee for protection of women working in offices and industrial sector has been constituted. Women may contact the committee for restoration of their rights.
Replying to a question, she said that events of killing of women in the name of honour have brought bad reputation within and outside the country. Government has been equally working for the protection of women of urban and rural areas.
Speaking on the occasion, Goharullah, President of HCCI emphasised that Islam provides all sorts of security, safety, protection to the women. Women of our country have been performing their jobs in the government, semi-government, autonomous bodies, industrial sector and political forum with devotion and dedication. He further said that in Hyderabad, there are 11 automobile units where women workers have been performing their duties in assembling auto-motorcycle, auto-rickshaws and tractors etc.
