Former judges of Lahore High Court, Hafiz Abdul Rehman Ansari, Mian Shahid Iqbal, Shaukat Umar Pirzada, Tariq Javed, Waqar Hasan Mir, and Anwar Bhaur whom the Judicial Commission had refused an extension visited the Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) on Monday. They received a warm welcome and bar members garlanded them and chanted slogans in their favour.
President Supreme Court Bar Association, Asma Jahangir while talking to the media persons after their visit to the bar said that the extension given to some judges of the high courts was astonishing. She said they should have been confirmed or terminated if they are not competent to be judges.
She demanded that the good judges who were terminated during era of Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar (Retd) should also be reinstated.
