The power plant gifted by UAE is not lying unattended for the last one year, said a spokesman of Pakistan Electric Power Company (PEPCO). According to some media reports, the plant is lying un-attended. The spokesman said that the correct situation is that the power plant gifted by United Arab Emirates (UAE) comprises of 13 turbines and both the governments of Pakistan and United Arab Emirates agreed to install it at Faisalabad where land and other infrastructure is already available.
He said that out of 13 turbines, 5 turbines arrived in October 2010, 5 arrived on Thursday (yesterday) and 3 more are expected to reach by next month. The spokesman said that transportation of turbines from Karachi to Faisalabad involve special handling.
