Punjab Chief Minister, Shahbaz Sharif on Friday presiding over a meeting has decided to immediately start work on extension of Bhatta Chowk and improvement of Lahore Canal Road projects. Addressing the meeting, the chief minister said that due to increasing traffic on canal road, citizens have to face a lot of problems and sometimes traffic remains stuck for a long time.
He observed that the road was in dilapidated condition which in itself was a cause of hindrance in the smooth flow of traffic. He said that the work should immediately be started to improve Canal Road and widen it making use of the available spaces without cutting trees while more bus stops, be set up there.
He said that plan should immediately be evolved for the improvement of Canal Road and the work be started on the same without any delay and it must be completed as soon as possible so that citizens might not face difficulties besides maintaining smooth flow of traffic.
