The Chief of Army Staff (CoAS), General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, on Friday issued transfer orders of three high ranking army officers. Sources in Defence Ministry said that Director-General, Infantry, Lieutenant General Saleem Nawaz has been transferred and posted as Inspector-General, Arms, GHQ. He also served as Inspector-General, Frontier Constabulary (FC) in Balochistan.
Outgoing Inspector-General, Arms, GHQ, Lieutenant General Tahir Mahmood will retire on January 31, 2011. Tahir Mahmood also served as Corps Commander, Rawalpindi. Meanwhile, General Officer Commanding (GOC), Sialkot, Major General Khalid Mahmood has been appointed as Director-General, Infantry.
