Halal Food Authority, UK, in collaboration with Bhombal & Company, Pakistan, on Saturday organised a seminar on 'Halal Food Awareness', at a Beach Luxury Hotel.
Anjum Nisar, a former president of Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) and Vice Chairman BMG (KCCI) was the Chief Guest of the seminar and Masood Khawaja, President of Halal Food Authority, UK, Muhammed Saeed Bhombal, CEO, Bhombal Group, A Q Khalil, a former president of KCCI, Hamid Maker, Chairman, Helpline Trust, Ateeq ur Rehman, Advisor, KCCI, Asad Sajad, CEO, Halal Development Council, Tariq S Bhombal, of Bhombal and Company, also spoke at the seminar.
The speakers lauded the efforts for Halal Food, writing off widespread suspicion, and rectified the ongoing frustration on Halal certification. There are around 1.3 billion Muslims in the world and 1.5 billion Halal consumers, which means that one out of every four human beings consumer use Halal products.
The difference of 0.2 billion between the Halal consumers and Muslims is accounted for by non-Muslims living in Muslim majority countries where most foods are Halal. In USA and Europe, like everyone else, Muslims have a very busy life style. Increasing daily activities at work and home do not allow them to prepare meals at home.-PR
