Inauguration ceremony of IPS laboratories held

University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Professor Dr Muhammad Nawaz has urged the students and faculty members should produce useful research to play their due role to overcome the national health and safety endangers.
He was speaking after the inauguration ceremony of Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (IPS) new state of the art laboratories here on Saturday at the varsity premises. Director IPS Dr Farzana and other faculty members were present on the occasion.
Professor Dr Muhammad Nawaz said that UVAS is the fourth university that has won maximum projects from international agencies through wining fruitful research projects. He lauded IPS four labourites was a milestone achieved by the tireless efforts of the IPS team.
He emphasised that "it is the universities that generate knowledge for the advancement of the Country, and it is the prime responsibility of the faculty to produce useful research along with their teaching responsibilities". While UVAS Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC), is going to arrange a 4-week Professional Competency Enhancement Programme for Teachers (PCEPT).
National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE) phase II is a project of Learning innovation Division (LID) for continuous professional development of 2100 faculty member across the country to benefit PCEPT from 2nd February to 2nd March 2011 under the aegis of Higher Education Commission's NAHE. PCEPT project of Learning Innovation Division of NAHE aims to enhance and strengthen the pedagogical research, assessment, planning and manage mental capabilities of the faculty.
The training course will consist on innovative teaching strategies that blend academic concepts with classroom applications, strengthening the communication skills of the university teachers, increase awareness and importance of research and its practical aspects, developing academic planning and management skills and enhancing the testing and evaluation skills of the faculty. The course will be attended by the faculty members of UVAS and other public sector universities.
