Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Monday said development of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) was priority of the government and assured that despite economic difficulties development funds would be provided to AJK. During a meeting with Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Sardar Attique Ahmad Khan at the Prime Minister House, he directed the concerned authorities to release funds already committed for development schemes.
He informed that the funds announced by him during his visit have already been released to the AJK government. Reiterating Pakistan's principled stand on Kashmir issue, the Prime Minister said the resolution of Kashmir dispute in accordance with the UN Resolution and the wishes of the Kashmiri people could bring peace and prosperity to the region. The AJK Prime Minister thanked the Prime Minister for supporting the cause of the people of Kashmir and highlighting the issue of human rights abuses and atrocities in the Indian occupied Kashmir.
