Pakistan Customs Karachi, along-with world customs fraternity, observed "International Customs Day" on 26th January 2011. In this connection, the event of destruction of narcotics and contraband goods was held at Neelum Point, Hawksbay, Karachi witnessed by the drug liaison officers of different countries and officers of sister organisations. Senior officers of customs department also attended the event.
The details of narcotics and other contraband goods destroyed is as follows: heroin 91.570 kilograms, charas 13,957.5kgs, Poppy Straw 6,000kgs, liquor 18,447, liquor (beer), 5,616 bottles, gutka 550 boxes (17 cases), medicines, packages, cardboard cartons/jute bags/handbags, CDs/DVDs 2,900 pcs, Betel Nuts 3,129,kgs, and four cases of miscellaneous goods.-PR
