The Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday adjourned Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM) Corruption case hearing, which caused a loss of Rs 22 billion to the exchequer, for three weeks. A four-member bench of the apex court, headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry was hearing suo moto case of Rs 22 billion corruption case in PSM.
Moazam Jah, director FIA Sindh informed the court about the progress report regarding arrest of the accused involved in the scam. He said that they had registered 10 FIRs against different accused in PSM case. He further told the court that he had consulted Barrister Zafarullah Khan, learned ASC as well as he had been conducting investigations regarding the cases registered by his organisation diligently.
Abdul Ghaffar Soomro, secretary industries and production appeared before the court. He was directed to appear before the bench as it falls within the interest and duty of the industries department and its job is to take up the matter diligently instead waiting for court verdict. The bench categorically told Maoazam to appear before the court with full preparation regarding the case. "You should come with significant progress on the next date of hearing," chief justice told Moazam. The court adjourned the case for three weeks.
