A three-day 12th Symposium on 'Frontiers in Physics' Wednesday kicked off at the Government College University Lahore Bokhari Auditorium with the joint collaboration of the GCU Physics Department and National Centre for Physics, Islamabad. The symposium features 13 technical and three poster sessions in which 93 research papers would be presented.
Above 150 researchers from across the country, including of Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission, Quaid-i-Azam University, PIEAS, UET Lahore, PINSTECH, COMSATS, Punjab University, Karachi University and Quetta University would present their papers at the conference describing the latest observations in their respective fields.
Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission Chairman Dr Ansar Perviaz was Chief Guest at the inaugural ceremony of the symposium presided over by GCU Vice Chancellor Dr Khalid Aftab.
Addressing the participants, Professor Aftab said conference and symposiums are aimed at the fertilisation of new ideas through sharing of knowledge and interaction between the scientists, professors, researchers and students. The Vice Chancellor said that merely creating knowledge is not enough; its dissemination is equally important for its growth. He said that research is 'searching again' thus; it is a way of exploring already existing ideas in a new way and generating knowledge through it.
