Islamabad Police in a massive operation arrested over 51 persons including 40 suspects who were residing in capital without legal documents. Police impounded three vehicles and four motorcycles which were without documents, while 3.055 kilogram opium, 10 bottles liquor, six pistols and a dagger were also recovered from 11 outlaws arrested for their alleged involvement in different crimes.
Koral Police launched the operation in its jurisdiction and searched houses, workshops, parking areas, markets, under construction buildings and residential areas to trace suspects and nabbed 40 persons, said a spokesman of Islamabad Police on Wednesday.
Following the directions of SSP Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan, SP Rural Umer Hayat ordered strict vigilance against the criminals and search operation in Koral area. A team under supervision of DSP Sardar Babar Mumataz and SHO Sajjad Haider Bukhari conducted search operation in Korang Town, Pakistan Town, Service Road, Ghori Town and other areas.
Besides contingents of Islamabad Police, teams of Bomb Disposal Squad, Police Commandos, women Police also participated in the operation and search was also carried out by sniffer dogs where necessary, the spokesman said.
Police team also impounded three cars and four motorbikes without documents. Meanwhile, Islamabad police arrested 11 outlaws from various areas of the city and recovered 3.055 kilogram opium, 10 wine bottles, six 30 bore pistols and a dagger from their possession. DIG (Operations) Bani Amin Khan and SSP Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan have directed to ensure elaborate security measures. They said that it is the prime responsibility of the police in present law and order situation to remain vigilant and every possible effort would be made to ensure peace in the city.
