The Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Regional Chairman Mian Muhammad Tariq Shafi has condemned discrimination in gas and electricity supply to Punjab and said Punjab has never ever promoted the provincialism but this sort of conspiracy will not be succeeded.
While addressing the Presidents of Chambers of Commerce and Industry from all over Punjab in a meeting at regional office said that it is self-created issue which has no base. He said the four-day closure of gas and electricity can dump the industry very badly.
The huge amount of revenue is collected from the business community, but government is blaming industry only to hide its own mistakes and narrow mindedness. Business community seeks the solution of problem and also refrain administration to ruin the mandate of public. The FPCCI is the biggest representative body of business community that will protect the interests and rights of the community.
Meanwhile Vice President Saarc CCI Iftikhar Ali Malik, said that business community must be taken in confidence while policy making to resolve the problems. He said Agriculture tax may be imposed to increase the revenues. He suggested that ten years plan may be prepared to overcome the crisis of energy. New dams and power stations must be built.
Shahzad Ali Malik gave presentation on Pakistan Water Front and said water is the biggest problem of Pakistan. The participants appreciated the efforts of Shahzad Ali Malik to counter FICCI's intention against Pakistan and assured their full co-operation to raise this national cause.
Imtiaz Ahmad from Rahimyar Khan, Mian Muhammad Ateeq ,Rawalpindi, Tariq Mughal and Manzoor-ul-Haq Malik, Sheikhupura, Tariq Mahmood Attock, Qaisra Sheikh Women Chamber Lahore, Hafiz Shafique Sargodha, Sohail Yousaf Gujranwala, Irfan Yousaf Gujrat, Muhammad Younus and Tariq Ameer Khan Jhang, Muhammad Iqbal Okara, Sheikh Muhammad Arshad from Lahore were present in the meeting. All the presidents raised different problems, including energy, place of chambers, dry ports at Sheikhupura and Sargodha.
