Commecs Institute of Business and Emerging Sciences organised its closing ceremony of Sports Gala 2011 on January 29 at National Training and Coaching Centre. The legendary Hockey Olympian, Ayaz Mehmood was the Chief Guest, whereas Khalid Saleem, Member Managing Committee CIBES and Rashid Siddiqui, Sports Editor, Daily Express were the Guests of Honour on that occasion.
The Chief Guest highly appreciated and admired the college management and students for organising such a well-disciplined sports event. He deemed the organisation of such events as being very helpful in grooming students' multi-faceted personality After the formal commencement of the programme, a beautiful March Past was exhibited by the students who were specially trained for that purpose.
The students in their colourful T-shirts with excited faces and sparkling eyes showed great skill and discipline in the March Past. The events of the Final were: Boys' 100 Meter race. Girls' 100 M Race, Boys' 200 M race, Girls' 20() M race Tug of War. Staff's (Men) 50 M Race, Technical officials race, Parents' (Men) 50 M Race, Boys' 400 M Race, Girls' 4x100 M Relay Race and Boys' 4x100 M Relay Race.
The best athletes of the event were Fahad Anwar of Jamil Room and Hira Rasool of Toyota Room. The Chief Guest distributed prizes among the winners of the finals. College shields were presented to the Chief Guest by the Executive Director Commecs Educational Trust (CET) Muhammad Arif Dossal and Principal CIBES, Cdr. Abdul Razaq (Retd) PN at the end of the programme.-PR
