Pakistan Broad-casting Corporation (PBC) and Agriculture Information Department Punjab have launched two new programmes for effectively disseminating agricultural information. Both weekly programmes namely 'farmers and fields' and 'Green Pakistan' are being broadcast since January 2011 in the national language, said a spokesman of Agricultural Information Department, here on Thursday.
Green Pakistan (sarsabz Pakistan) is also being broadcast from Radio Pakistan Rawalpindi and Faisalabad. The spokesman said Radio Pakistan is playing a very important role in the promotion of agricultural information as its Rawalpindi, Multan, Bahawalpur, Faisalabad, Sargodha and Mianwali stations are airing agricultural programmes on a daily basis. These programmes are covering subjects like agricultural research, extension, agricultural engineering, irrigation reforms, marketing, pest warning and quality control as well as conducting interviews of leading farmers.
