At least three workers of Sunni Tehreek (ST) received bullets wounds when unidentified armed men fired multiple shots on the rally staged in the wake of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi at New Karachi. According to police, unknown armed men opened indiscriminate fire on the dozens of ST workers to join the congregation held at Nishtar Park on the occasion of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi.
They said after committing such heinous crime, the unknown armed attackers managed to flee. The injured activists namely Qasim, Waseem and Fayyaz received minor bullets wounds and admitted to ASH. Several incidents of violence were reported after the said incident as armed men restored to aerial firing, forcing shopkeepers to pull down their shutters, which left the New Karachi area in a strong grip of tension. A large number of miscreants, who gathered at main artery of the said area, pelted stones on moving vehicles and suspended all commercial and social activities.
