Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Saturday accused the former military dictator General Pervez Musharraf of putting the Kashmir issue on the back burner through his flawed foreign policy. Central leader of PML-N Raja Zafarul Haq while addressing a party function at party's central secretariat in Islamabad organised in connection with Kashmir Day, paid rich tributes to those Kashmiris, who sacrificed their lives, adding that their sacrifices would pave the way for just solution of Kashmir issue.
The PML-N leader blamed Musharraf for the delay in resolution of Kashmir issue, adding that the flawed foreign policy of the previous regime put the Kashmir issue on the back burner. "Musharraf's role on Kashmir issue was like a 'foreign agent' due to which the Kashmir issue could not be raised effectively on diplomatic level," he added.
He said that the former dictator had even tried to stop marking the Kashmir Day, adding that criminal cases were registered against PML-N workers during the former regime for organising rally on Kashmir Day. He underlined the need to raise the Kashmir issue on international forum courageously so that it could be resolved as per the sspirations of the people of Kashmir.
Expressing solidarity with the Kashmiri brothers, he further said that though every political party had its own manifesto but all were united on the just cause of Kashmir and there was no second opinion among them on the issue. Earlier, addressing the function, PML-N leader Siddiqul Farooq announced that PML-N would actively participate in the next election in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. He claimed that the PML-N would form next government in AJK. PML-N's AJK chapter spokesman Shah Ghulam Qadir, in his address, expressed the hope that Pakistani people would not leave the Kashmiri people alone in their struggles for their right of self-determination.
