Different political and non-political organisations staged demonstrations and took out rallies to express solidarity with their Kashmiri brethren in their struggle for self-determination against Indian occupation, here on Saturday.
The political parties that staged solidarity demonstrations included Jamiat Ulma-e-Islam Fazl-ur-Rehman (JUI-F), All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference and a non-political organisation Jamaat-ud-Dawah. Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) organised a seminar where speakers expressed solidarity with the Kashmiris struggling for achievement of right of self-determination.
The Kashmiris Solidarity Rally of JUI-F was led by Senator Haji Ghulam Ali. The participants announced full political and moral support to Kashmiris struggling for their right of self-determination. They said that the war for independence of Kashmir will continue till achievement of the desired goal. Jamaat-ud-Dawah staged a huge rally in front of Peshawar Press Club and expressed solidarity with Kashmiris in their struggle for independence from Indian occupation. The participants, riding motorcycles and other vehicles, were chanting slogans in favour of the independence.
The organisation staged rallies at three different places of the provincial metropolis, attended by a large number of people. The rallies were staged in front of Peshawar Press Club, University Road and Fawwara Chowk, Peshawar Cantonment. Addressing the participants, speakers said that independence of Kashmir could not be halted further and blood of the martyrs will ultimately bear fruits. They said that Kashmir is the jugular vein of Pakistan and each and every youth and child of Peshawar is ready to join war for independence of Kashmir.
They urged media to play an active role in the Kashmiris war for independence and called for unveiling the 'black face of India' that had usurped their right of independence since last 63 years. They also urged human rights organisations to support those that not like living with India.
All Jammu & Kashmir Muslim Conference, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter also staged a demonstration and expressed solidarity with Kashmiris in their struggle for independence. The demonstration, led by Mohammad Saeed Butt, started from New Rampura Gate and after passing through different roads reached Kacheri Gate where it turned into a public meeting. Addressing the participants, leaders of Kashmiri community condemned Indian atrocities on those struggling for the right of self-determination. They called for resolution of Kashmir issue according to the resolutions of United Nations.
Jamaat-i-Islami organised a seminar in connection with the solidarity day. Those who spoke on the occasion were included central naib Amir JI, Siraj-ul-Haq, provincial amir Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Professor Mohammad Ibrahim Khan and Maulana Abdul Akbar Chitrali.
The JI leaders were critical of the role of rulers regarding struggle of independence of Kashmir. They called for official announcement to declare 'war for freedom of Kashmir'. They pointed out that as India is not even ready for acceptance of Kashmir as disputed territory, therefore, government should sever trade and diplomatic relations with the country. They called for unification of the entire nation for the independence of Kashmir, saying Pakistan is incomplete till resolution of the problem.
Siraj-ul-Haq was also critical of the world community, saying that if UN could go for referendum in the case of Southern Sudan, why not in 63 years old the issue of Kashmir. He said that hearts of Kashmiris beat with Pakistan and they have hoisted our flags on their houses. Furthermore, Kashmiris have adjusted their time with Pakistan Standard Time and not with Delhi, he pointed out.
