Punjab Chief Minister, Shahbaz Sharif has said that Daanish Schools will always continue to provide quality educational facilities to the poorest students. He said that the monopoly of rich people on higher education has been ended by setting up Daanish Schools and the dream of students of far flung and backward areas of having modern educational facilities at their doorstep has materialised.
Chief Minister said that double shift should be started in Daanish Schools from next year so that maximum students could get education in these schools. This was revealed in information of DGPR received here on Saturday.
He was addressing a meeting of officers and contractors who displayed best performance in the construction of Daanish Schools in Hasilpur and Rahim Yar Khan during the day. Member National Assembly Saira Afzal Tarar, Member Provincial Assembly Muhammad Afzal Khan, Chairman Punjab Education Foundation, Chief Secretary, Commissioner Bahawalpur Division, District Co-ordination Officers of Rahim Yar Khan and Bahawalpur, Managing Director Daanish Schools System and concerned officers were also present.
The Chief Minister said that setting up of Daanish Schools is such a revolutionary step of Punjab government which will leave far reaching effects on the development of the country and the talented students equipped with modern knowledge after completing their study from these schools will play their effective role in the development of various sectors and prosperity of the country.
He said that Daanish Schools is a ray of hope for the bright future of the poorest students and these schools will not only polish the abilities of talented students of backward areas but will also help eliminate poverty and backwardness of these areas.
He said that during first phase, three Daanish Schools have been set up in Bahawalpur Division and during the inauguration of Daanish Schools in Rahim Yar Khan and Hasilpur, the students of these areas have demonstrated such confidence and capabilities, which showed a hope of bright future of the country. He said that such intelligent students would come out from these schools that were being ignored due to non-availability of educational facilities.
Punjab CM said that best teachers were selected for these schools and admissions were made only on merit basis. He said that complete autonomy has been given to the Board of Governors of these schools and capable and professional people have been included in it.
He averred that Daanish Schools should be made a best financial model in which all aspects including utilisation of vast land adjacent to these schools for livestock and agriculture purposes should be kept.
He said that Punjab government, beside constructing cemented buildings in development projects, is also promoting culture of horticulture and beautification and Commissioner Bahawalpur Division should also take steps for horticulture and making these Daanish Schools green and the work of planting maximum trees in the playgrounds be completed by the end of March.
He directed that the women staff be posted in the school and hostel of female students. He gave direction to Chief Secretary to constitute a technical committee, which will review the quality of construction of these schools and administrative officers and contractors showing best performance will be encouraged in the light of the recommendations of the committee.
Chief Minister lauded the efforts of Chief Secretary Nasir Mehmood Khosa, MD Daanish Schools System Yousuf Kamal, Commissioner Bahawalpur, Deputy Secretary Shahid Iqbal and the entire team for showing best performance and taking keen interest in the completion of Daanish Schools project. He said that the third Daanish School in Chishtian would be inaugurated within a few days, whereas the foundation stone of these schools will be laid in Attock, Mianwali, DG Khan and Rajanpur.
