Chairman of the Kashmir Committee and head of Jamiat-e-Ulema-e-Islam Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Saturday opposed permanent membership of United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to India till the freedom of Kashmir.
Addressing a rally organised by Kashmir Committee here at Parliament House, he said the country will continue its support for Kashmir till implementation of United Nations resolutions. "UN resolutions are waiting for implementation," he said adding that if the UN resolution could be implemented in Sudan and Indonesia - why it is still delayed in Kashmir.
He said that peace in Asia linked with logical conclusion of Kashmir issue: "the peace of South Asia is linked with the resolution of Kashmir issue as it affects the whole region." Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that the whole nation is united with Kashmiris for their freedom and the struggle would be continued till independence of the occupied valley.
He said that United States and International community should come forward for implementing resolution of Kashmir dispute. The Chairman Kashmir Committee said that Kashmiris must be given their right of self-determination and India should recognise that their occupation in Kashmir is illegal and its is impossible to maintain illegal occupation for long time. He demanded that India should quit Kashmir.
Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit Baltistan, Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo addressing the participants said that Pakistan will continue its moral and diplomatic support for Kashmiris till implementation of UN resolution. He said that today they would renew their pledges with Kashmiri brethren that the government and allies will continue their support for Kashmir cause.
He added that the nation acknowledges the sacrifices of Kashmiris for their untiring struggle. Member of Kashmir Committee and a large number of people attended the rally. The participants were carrying placards and banners highlighting the sacrifices of the Kashmiris and condemning the atrocities of Indian forces. The rally started from China Chowk and culminated at Parliament House.
