The profit after tax (consolidated) of Pakistan International Container Terminal (PICT) increased to Rs 579.941 million in the half-year period ended on December 31, 2010 as compared to Rs 470.480 million earned in the corresponding period in 2009.
The board of directors of the company in its meeting held on Monday declared that the company's earning per share (basic) increased to Rs 5.23 in the period under review against Rs 4.23 in the same period a year back while the earning per share (diluted) increased to Rs 4.56 against Rs 3.70.
According to the financial results sent to Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE), the company's net turnover increased to Rs 2.897 billion in the half-year period in 2010 as compared to Rs 2.582 billion recorded in the same period in 2009. The terminal operating costs increased to Rs 1.708 billion against Rs 1.435 billion. The company's profit before taxation increased to Rs 918.046 million in the half year period in 2010 against Rs 750.725 million earned in the same period in 2009.
