Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Monday demanded justice to those Pakistanis who lost their lives on the hands of Americans. He was addressing a public gathering outside Data Darbar. Imran said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf is a symbol of change and it cannot be stopped. He criticised the 'puppet' rulers of Islamabad and Raiwind for constantly showing loyalty to the US rather than their own people.
While expressing grief over the suicide of Shumaila widow of Faheem (one of the persons killed by Davis), Imran said 'four dead bodies are awaiting justice', which must be done. "All these four Pakistanis as well as all those killed in drone attacks should be given justice by the rulers," he demanded.
According to him, people of Pakistan desire to see their country free from all evils, which is only possible if all citizens are treated equally by the law. However, no good could be expected if dacoits are given protection under National Reconciliatory Ordinance (NRO), he added. PTI chief urged people to stand against corrupt rulers, saying situation could improve if people unite and come out of their houses to save Pakistan. He hailed the people of Lahore for making the rally a big success and said that revolution has begun from the 'walled city'. Like in the past, people of the walled city would play their due role to save the country from the clutches of corrupt rulers, he maintained.
Mian Mehmood-ul-Rasheed, PTI President Lahore, also addressed the public gathering. On the occasion, former councillor and Pakistan Peoples Party activist, Mazhar Iqbal Butt (also known as Bhalli Butt) announced to join PTI and expressed complete faith in the leadership of Imran Khan.
Later, PTI chief led a rally from Data Darbar Complex to Minar-e-Pakistan to express support to the families of Faizan, Faheem, Ibad-ur-Rehman and Shumaila in their struggle for justice. PTI central leaders namely Omar Sarfaraz Cheema, Saloni Bokhari and Talat Naqvi were also present on the occasion. Imran also paid a visit to Jamia Ashrafia to condole death of Maulana Abdul Rehman Ashrafi with his brother.
On the occasion, while talking to newsmen, Imran said Pakistan is fighting an alien war, which is ruining both the army and the country. He held the rulers responsible for growing extremism in the country. "The rulers must give justice to drone attacks victims," he remarked. He observed that resentment against rulers is increasing among the people, adding that there is no rule of law in the country that is forcing people to commit suicide.
