Punjab Provincial Co-operative Bank Ltd (PPCBL) advanced Rs 2.1743 billion as agri-loans for Rabi crops 2010-2011 through 94,063 farmers/members of 12,250 cooperative societies in the province till 28th February 2011. This was stated by President/Chief Executive Officer of the bank Liaquat Durrani at the monthly meeting of the bank here on Wednesday.
He said the bank recovered Rs 2.2112 billion till 28th February from the cooperative societies/farmers which were given as agri-loans for the Kharif crops of 2010. This is the 96.42 percent of the total loans advanced for the crops. Durrani said that the bank is also advancing loans for the purchase of tractors, agriculture implements and the livestock schemes to the farmers/societies. The meeting decided to rover the old and remaining loans as early as possible.
