Head of the Qaumi Amn Lashkar, Adezai has said the movement can be dissolved which was established to fight against militants if the provincial government fails to fulfil their demands within a week. Qaumi Amn Lashkar is a local peace movement for provision of protection to the locals of the suburban localities and to stop the incursion of militants into the provincial metropolis.
However, the leaders of the movement launched with the support of the provincial government accused the later of backtracking from its commitments. Addressing a press conference, head of the Lashkar, Dilawar Khan said that the Lashkar had fought a three year long battle against Taliban. He said that the battle was started in the wake of the end of the writ of the government.
The Lashkar, he said was constituted with the support of the provincial government to protect the country. But, during the period of last three years neither the government nor any agency of the country extended us any assistance. However, he said that local police is cooperating with them within its limit. He said that during last three years about 47 members of the Lashkar have been killed at the hands of the militants as they were targeted with missile, rocket launchers and mortar shells. One of his brothers was killed in Karachi.
He said that they have braved the attacks of militants, but now the lack of resources is affecting their resolve of combating. Therefore, he said they demanding of the provincial to resolve their problems in a period of one week. He also accused the member of the National Assembly and Provincial Assembly from the area concerned for not cooperating with the movement due to political reasons.
He said that few days back, his house was attacked with rockets, but neither any official of the provincial government nor administration dared even to issue simple condemnation statements. To a question, he said that at the time of formation of Lashkar the provincial government committed provision of vehicles, fuel and food. He said that they lack of resources. They could not purchase cartridges. He further alleged the lack of co-operation with the movement in taking action against militants.
