The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) is to celebrate its golden jubilee on Friday (today). ICAP came into being through enactment of the Chartered Accountants Ordinance, 1961 on July 1st 1961 to regulate the accountancy profession in general, particularly the auditing profession.
ICAP is responsible for imparting Chartered Accountancy qualification and the development and regulation of the profession and its members in Pakistan. In order to commemorate the achievements and inaugurate the celebrations for the whole year, the inaugural Ceremony of the Golden jubilee is being held at Sheesh Mahal Serena Islamabad on Friday, 4th March 2011. The ceremony is expected to be vastly attended by eminent professionals of accounting and business, government dignitaries, diplomats and past presidents of the Institute. The Inaugural ceremony will pave way for conferences planned at Karachi and Lahore, in July and December this year, says a press release.-PR
