The Bank of Khyber (BoK) has posted Rs 563.486 million as profit after tax in the year ended December 31, 2010 as compared to after tax loss of Rs 637.183 million registered in the corresponding period in 2009. The board of directors of the bank in its meeting held on Thursday declared that the bank's earning per share stood at Rs 1.13 in the period under review against per share loss of Rs 1.27 in the same period a year back.
According to the financial results sent to Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE), the bank's mark-up/return/interest earnings increased to Rs 4.207 billion in 2010 against Rs 3.390 in 2009 while mark-up/return/interest expenses increased to Rs 2.925 billion against Rs 2.390 billion.
The bank's total non-mark-up/interest income declined to Rs 59.677 million against Rs 383.702 million while total non-mark-up/interest expenses increased to Rs 951.391 million against Rs 920.279 million. The bank's profit before taxation stood at Rs 713.141 million in 2010 against before tax loss of Rs 798.770 million in 2009.
