Gujranwala Forest Circle has chalked out a comprehensive tree plantation under the spring tree plantation campaign launched in the province. Conservator Gujranwala Forest Circle Dr Muhammad Rafiq giving details said that plants and stumps have been made available in all the six districts of Gujrat, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujranwala, Sialkot and Narowal.
Dr Rafiq further said that as many as 20 lakh saplings would be planted in entire circle, while sufficient quality plantation stock of Shisham, Simal, Kikar, Eucalyptus, Toot and other tree species including ornamental plants are available on cheaper rates for general public.
He said that potted plants would be sold at the nominal price of Rs 2/- per plant, while stumps would be sold at the rate of 50 Paisa per unit. Dr Rafiq said that 23 sale points in Gujranwala Forest Circle have been established and people can contact District Forest Offices or Forest Nurseries of their respective district to avail these plants and stumps.
