The Karachi Port handled 114,372 tonnes of cargo including 73,986 tonnes of import cargo, 40,386 tonnes of export cargo and 4,249 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Saturday. The total import cargo of 73,986 tonnes comprised of 19,793 tonnes of containerised cargo; 2,288 tonnes of rock phosphate and 51,905 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 40,386 tonnes comprised of 27,051 tonnes of containerised cargo; 470 tonnes of general cargo; 9,265 tonnes of bulk cargo: 1,185 tonnes of cement; 6,350 tonnes of wheat; 1,730 tonnes of talcum powder and 3,600 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Nine ships namely Moray, Vinashin Melody, Vil Atlantic, Lt Genova, Lavender, E R Brest, Katherine, UBC Cyprus and Hanjin Paris with petrol, naphtha, wheat, two container ships, canola seeds, wheat and containers respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Six vessels viz Aris, Emperor, Royal Diamond, Valdivia, Al-Wajba and APL Sokhna carrying oil tanker, container, two wheat ships and three container ships respectively are currently at the berths. Four ships namely Nord Observer, Kota Helus, Trave Trader and Kota Anggerik carrying petrol and three container ships respectively expected to sail on Saturday, while two ships namely APL Sokhna and Aris with containers and oil tanker respectively are expected to sail on Sunday.
Two vessels viz Lodestar Genesis and Warnow Moon carrying chemicals and wheat respectively due to arrive on Saturday, while six vessels viz Leopard-B, MOL Seabreeze, Daffodil, Bunga Raya Lima, APL Shenzen and Iron Monger-5 with rock phosphate, four container ships and crude oil respectively are due to arrive on Sunday. Five ships namely Bow Fuji, Aifanourios, Aquila Voyager, Green Cove and Stolt Courage carrying base oil, two ships of urea, vehicle and ethanol respectively are due to arrive on Monday.

PORT QASIM
The Port Qasim handled 73,561 tonnes of cargo includes 47,026 tonnes of import cargo and 26,535 tonnes of export cargo and 2,388 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours.
The total import cargo of 47,026 tonnes includes 22,585 tonnes of furnace oil; 4,600 tonnes of edible oil; 5,261 tonnes of urea and 14,580 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 26,535 tonnes includes 4,771 tonnes of cement; 4,772 tonnes of wheat and 16,992 tonnes of containerised cargo.
Two ships namely CGM Eiffel and Argent Freesia sailed out to sea on Saturday morning, while two more ships namely Safe Marine Cuninne and MV Protector are expected to sail on the same day afternoon. A total number of ten vessels viz Safe Marine Cuninne, CGM Eiffel, Christenia, MV Wales-II, MV Protector, MV Sea Baisen, Free Envoy, MV Split, New Ability and Argent Freesia are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, wheat, urea, furnace oil and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Seven ships namely Mire, Aquila Voyager, Ine Lotte, MSC Jade, MSC Anafi, Alfa Nourios and Four Bay carrying furnace oil, urea, wheat, two container ships, urea and furnace oil respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A container ship namely MSC Anafi is expected to take berths at Container Terminal on Saturday.
