Chairman, Board of Management Post-Graduate Medical Institute, Qazi Humayon Fareed, has said that the 1st phase of 500 bedded Punjab Institute of Neuroscience, General Hospital Lahore would be completed by the end of June 2011 and it would be a state of the art health facility where the latest treatment facilities for neurological and brain diseases would be available.
He said this while presiding over a meeting in LGH, here on Sunday. Besides, principal PGMI/LGH Professor Tariq Salahuddin, Deputy Secretary Health Saaleha Saeed, Professor Munir-ul Haq, MS LGH, Dr Zaffar Ikram and representative of Finance Department attended the meeting.
Qazi Humayon Fareed lauded the efforts of the principal for successfully holding 4th convocation and timely completion of Phase-II of Lahore General Hospital. He said that the performance of the hospital has been increased manifold due to the provision of brain angiography, CT scan machines and installation of other latest medical equipment in the diagnostic department of the consolidated OPD.
He appreciated the principal for organising 23 training workshops and publication of 70 research papers in a short period of one year. The members of BOM of PGMI thanked the Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif for approving PGMI Medical College, establishment of Institute of Neurosciences and provision of fund of Rs One billion for ongoing development projects in LGH.
