Olympic Football Qualifying: Pakistan to meet Malaysia in second leg on March 9
Punjab Stadium will host the second leg of Pakistan-Malaysia clash on Wednesday (tomorrow) in the Olympic Football Asian Qualifying Tournament. This will be the second time the 8,000-capacity arena will be used for Pakistan's match against an overseas team. The same arena hosted Pakistan-Palestine clash on 1st March 2011.
This will be the eighth meeting between the two sides and second meeting between the two countries at the Olympic event level. Al The first leg was played at Kuala Lumpur's Shah Alam on 23rd February 2011, wherein Malaysia won by 2-0. Both the nations faced each other six times at the national level with matches recorded as FIFA-recognised internationals. Pakistan managed to score only four goals against Malaysia in the six outings.
