Despite bumper wheat production prices soared on the wholesales grains market on Monday in process of good business, dealers said. On the cereal side wheat old Bardan (with sag) shot up by Rs 80 to Rs 2780 and wheat new Bardan (with bag) also followed the same pattern, gaining the same amount to Rs 2795. Gur low type was higher by Rs 200 to Rs 5000 and low type did not show any change in the weekend level at Rs 6000 and Khandsari was quoted at Rs 7000, other items maintained the last levels, they said.
On the grams side gram Australia low variety posted fresh gain of Rs 500 to Rs 4900 and good type rose by Rs 600 to Rs 5100, grams Australia Dal inferior variety was up by Rs 400 to 6100 and good type was higher by Rs 300 to Rs 6200 and bajra, however, came down due to good supply, shed Rs 75 to Rs 2400 and best type was lower by Rs 100 to Rs 2800, grams 50x50 low type shed Rs 50 to Rs 5100 while the best type gained Rs 250 to Rs 5600, they said.
On the rice sector Irri-6 Sindh went up by Rs 50 to Rs 3300-3350, other items held the overnight levels in slow trade, they said. On the seeds side cottonseeds oilcake with bag low type did not move any side at Rs 1350 while the good type was up by Rs 20 to Rs 1400 and rapeseeds Nawabshah new low type gained Rs 140 to Rs 2140 and superior type was up by Rs 100 to Rs 2150, other items maintained their weekend levels, they said.
