The Karachi Port handled 161,990 tonnes of cargo including 84,868 tonnes of import cargo, 77,122 tonnes of export cargo and 3,579 loaded & empty containers during last 48 hours ended at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 84,868 tonnes comprised of 42,691 tonnes of containerised cargo; 4,100 tonnes of rock phosphate and 58,099 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 77,122 tonnes comprised of 46,593 tonnes of containerised cargo; 100 tonnes of general cargo; 28,229 tonnes of bulk cargo: 2,677 tonnes of cement; 22,095 tonnes of wheat; 3,457 tonnes of talcum powder and 7,700 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
Fourteen ships namely APL Sokhna, MOL Seabreeze, Al-Wajba, Valdivia, Kota Helus, Kota Anggerik, Daffodil, Trave Trader, New Activity, Nord Observer, Jin Ace, C Duke, Chemstar Masa and Aris with eight container ships, two oil tankers, two wheat carriers and two oil tankers respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. Eight vessels viz Kota Anggerik, Kota Helus, MOL Seabreeze, Daffodil, Bunga Raya Lima, APL Shenzen, Chemstar Masa and Th Sonata carrying six container ships and two oil tankers respectively are currently at the berths.
A container ship namely APL Shenzen expected to sail on Monday, while two ships namely Afamia and Th Sonata with cement and oil tanker respectively are expected to sail on Tuesday. Three vessels viz Bow Fuji, Green Cove and Ocean Success carrying base oil, vehicles and general cargo respectively due to arrive on Monday, while two vessels viz Stolt Courage and CSL Ride with ethanol and containers respectively are due to arrive on Tuesday.

PORT QASIM
The Port Qasim handled 78,265 tonnes of cargo includes 60,583 tonnes of import cargo and 17,682 tonnes of export cargo and 1,913 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) during last 48 hours.
The total import cargo of 60,583 tonnes includes 40,697 tonnes of furnace oil; 1,001 tonnes of chemicals, 3,510 tonnes of urea and 15,375 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 17,682 tonnes includes 4,948 tonnes of cement; 2,078 tonnes of wheat and 10,656 tonnes of containerised cargo.
Furnace oil ship namely New Ability sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while another ship namely MV Split carrying urea is expected to sail on the same day afternoon. A total number of seven vessels viz Christenia, MV Sea Baisen, Free Envoy, MV Split, Aquila Voyager, Hartati and New Ability are currently occupying berths to load/offload cement, wheat, urea, chemicals and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Eleven ships namely Mire, Ine Lotte, MSC Jade, Alfa Nourios, Four Bay, Sound Future, Al-Soor-II, Golden Ambrosia, Maersk Idaho, Iolcos Vision and Rio Elder carrying furnace oil, wheat, containers, urea, furnace oil, rice, diesel oil, chemicals, containers, coal and containers respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of five vessels viz Maersk Idaho, Rio Elder, Golden Ambrosia, Iolcos Vision and Al-Soor-II carrying two container ships, chemicals, coal and diesel oil respectively are expected to take berths at Container Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Monday.
