Male lawyer misbehaves with female civil judge: Judges of lower courts abandon judicial work
Judges of lower courts on Wednesday abandoned judicial work after a male lawyer misbehaved with a female civil judge in her courtroom allegedly for denying relief. They, however, resumed their work after a few hours on the request of senior civil judge and authorities from Lahore High Court (LHC).
According to the details, the female civil judge Najia Batool dismissed a civil suit against Lesco for non-submission of payment for service of notices. She had already restored the civil suit twice on the request of Tabbasum but he did not submit the payment of notice-service.
At this the counsel for the plaintiff Chaudhry Sajid Tabbasum became angry and used harsh words against the lady judge. The angry lawyer demanded restoration of suit's proceedings but the judge refused to withdraw her order, said a court official. Seeing his failure in getting favourable decision, Tabbasum started misbehaving and threatened her of dire consequences. The irritated lawyer also locked up the courtroom of Najia Batool.
The aggrieved female judge informed her other colleagues about the incident and they all abandoned court work and gathered in the office of senior civil judge. LHC additional member inspection team Khaqan Babar and other officials also reached Aiwan-e-Adal and held a dialogue with the protesting judges. The dialogue proved to be successful and judges resumed their work.
