Barclays Bank Pakistan (BBP) marked the centenary of International Women's Day by appreciating the contribution of inspiring women in the fields of education, business, medicine, literature, philanthropy, social work and arts.
A series of events were hosted at Barclays flagship branches in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad where the senior management of Barclays presented appreciation awards to the guests including Reema Khan, Shazia Marri, Ruby Shakeel, Annie, Vincenzo Prati, Nicci & Nina, Shaista Zaidi, Ayesha Tammy Haq, Samina Peerzada, Freiha Altaf, Aeisha Varsey, Laeeq Akbar, Sultana Siddiqi, Mussarat Misbah and Nadya Mistry to name a few.
Being cognisant of the countless challenges and struggles faced by the women of our country in their personal and professional lives, this initiative of Barclays Pakistan aimed to appreciate the contribution of women who have demonstrated their calibre in every sphere of life and have actively created opportunities as well as hope for other women to follow in their footsteps.
Talking to the media at the event, Shazad Dada CEO of Barclays Bank Pakistan said: 'We at Barclays will continue to support the women of this country by continuing to provide equal opportunities at work, by introducing new products and services keeping in mind the specific banking needs of women and by investing in community projects aimed at providing access to education and financial empowerment to women.
